I liked this right up until the end. The "Child does thing they
shouldn't in the future" story is really old and most existing online
stores would handle the circumstance depicted here.

Good, but depressing. Also, a bit reductive. Are most sci-fi
short-shorts like that? (I'm seeing a pattern in these).
